CAIR said the students were allegedly suspended over a lighthearted video skit promoting MSA events, claiming the school acted based on \u201cracist tropes and stereotypes about Muslims and Arabs.\u201d The organization argued that the disciplinary action, taken before a proper investigation, could violate federal anti-discrimination laws and First Amendment protections for free speech.<\/p>\n
According to CAIR, other student groups, including Christian associations, have produced similar promotional videos without facing penalties.
