As reported by the Shia Waves Agency, citing Al Jazeera, Guterres delivered a video message from Hanoi, Vietnam, to ambassadors gathered in New York for the 80th anniversary of the United Nations. He stressed the urgent necessity of reforms to strengthen the Security Council’s function and ensure it can effectively respond to pressing global challenges.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, the World Health Organization (WHO) renewed its call to finalize the eradication of polio.<\/p>\n
According to Shia Waves Agency, citing Reuters, global efforts led by the UN have dramatically reduced the incidence of the disease. While polio once paralyzed approximately 350,000 children annually, international campaigns have successfully cut the number of cases to fewer than 50 today.<\/p>\n
