A new report by the Institute for Economics and Peace ranked Yemen as the most dangerous country in Asia, with a score of 3.397 on the Global Peace Index. The index, which measures peace levels in 163 countries based on 23 indicators including societal safety, conflict intensity, and militarization, reflected Yemen\u2019s ongoing instability after a decade of war and humanitarian collapse.<\/p>\n
According to the Asian news outlet WION, Yemen surpassed Afghanistan, Syria, and the Asian part of Russia in insecurity and violence levels. The country has endured more than ten years of internal conflict involving regional and international actors, leading to widespread infrastructure destruction and leaving about 24 million people\u2014nearly 80% of the population\u2014dependent on humanitarian aid.<\/p>\n
The report noted that Yemen\u2019s strategic location on the Red Sea, coupled with political and tribal divisions, has fueled regional rivalries.
