The United Nations reported on Friday that at least 562 aid workers, including 376 UN employees, have been killed in Gaza since October 7, 2023, amid ongoing Israeli airstrikes. The statement followed the death of Omar Hayek, a 42-year-old M\u00e9decins Sans Fronti\u00e8res staff member, in an airstrike on Deir al-Balah that also injured four colleagues. <\/p>\n
UN spokesperson St\u00e9phane Dujarric said all were clearly identifiable as medical personnel and that Hayek was the 14th MSF worker killed since the war began. Dujarric warned that intensified airstrikes on residential areas are worsening the humanitarian crisis, particularly in northern Gaza.
