According to Anadolu Agency, the observatory focused on this giant molecular cloud located just a few hundred light-years from the galaxy’s supermassive black hole. Although the region contains only 10% of the gas near the galactic core, it is responsible for producing half of its stars.<\/p>\n
Webb\u2019s infrared capability allowed scientists to peer through the thick, star-forming clouds. The telescope’s MIRI instrument revealed unprecedented detail in the gas and dust.
