The head of the UN agency for Palestinian refugees (UNRWA), Philippe Lazzarini, said Israel\u2019s military operations in Gaza are causing an average of 100 Palestinian deaths every day. He warned that the toll is compounded by starvation and lack of medical care, which are also claiming lives across the territory.<\/p>\n
In a statement on X, Lazzarini noted that many of the casualties occurred near food distribution points, where civilians gathering for aid have come under Israeli fire. Palestinians have described these locations as \u201cdeath traps,\u201d with thousands reported killed or injured since Israel introduced a new distribution mechanism on May 27.<\/p>\n
Lazzarini urged continued documentation of violations, accountability for perpetrators, and an immediate ceasefire to prevent further loss of life.
