\nThe Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) of Pakistan’s Punjab province has arrested 89 terrorists in 940 intelligence-based operations conducted over the past three months, Dawn reported. The operation is part of an ongoing effort to prevent and investigate terrorism following a recent increase in terror attacks across the country.<\/p>\n
The arrested individuals belong to several militant groups, including 55 from Fitna al Khawarij (Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan), five from ISIS, and two each from Al-Qaeda and Hizb-ut-Tahrir. The arrests took place in multiple cities, including Lahore, Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, and Bahawalpur.<\/p>\n
During the operations, the CTD seized a significant amount of explosive materials, detonators, and other items. Authorities reported that the suspects had been planning attacks on important buildings in several cities.
