The Documentation Center for Violations in North and East Syria has reported a sharp rise in kidnappings and arbitrary detentions targeting Kurds across Syria, describing the pattern as systematic and rooted in ethnic discrimination.
\nAccording to the center\u2019s report on abduction cases, 190 Kurds have been forcibly disappeared between January and the end of August 2025. <\/p>\n
The victims include two children, nine women, and 56 people with chronic illnesses, 31 of whom urgently require medical care. The report said incidents are concentrated in areas controlled by the Syrian Interim Government as well as territories under Turkish occupation and allied factions.<\/p>\n
It noted that September alone saw 14 new cases in cities such as Afrin, Aleppo, and Damascus, often carried out through home raids and roadside checkpoints. The center added that many families remain silent out of fear of reprisals, suggesting the actual number may be much higher.
