Syria has seen a surge in deadly incidents linked to random gunfire in 2025, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights. The watchdog reported that 200 people have been killed and 100 others injured since the start of the year, with children and women making up a significant portion of the casualties.<\/p>\n
The figures include 67 children and 19 women among the dead, while 47 children and 24 women were counted among the injured, raising the total number of victims to 300.<\/p>\n
The distribution of fatalities varied across the country: areas under Damascus government control recorded 129 deaths and 54 injuries, self-administration areas reported 45 deaths and 42 injuries, and territories held by the interim government documented 26 deaths and four injuries.<\/p>\n
