The initiative aims to address cardiovascular diseases in the country by focusing on primary health care. The effort has already shown success in a case study involving Garo Hagop, a 64-year-old Beirut resident and former smoker who was diagnosed with hypertension with a blood pressure of 200\/110 mmHg. The diagnosis was made during a visit to the Karagheusian Primary Health Care Centre in Burj Hammoud.
