\nGreenpeace has warned in a new report that climate change is now a leading driver of migration, food insecurity, and conflict in some of the world\u2019s most vulnerable regions.<\/p>\n
According to the environmental group, these crises often strike countries with minimal responsibility for global warming but which suffer the greatest damage. In 2024 alone, more than 83 million people were displaced within their own countries due to climate-related disasters, including floods, droughts, and extreme weather events.<\/p>\n
The report highlights how fragile institutions and deep social inequalities are compounding the impacts, leaving affected populations with limited means to recover or adapt. Researchers stressed that without urgent intervention, climate-induced instability could further escalate humanitarian crises and cross-border tensions.<\/p>\n
Greenpeace called for an accelerated global phase-out of fossil fuels, alongside stronger international mechanisms to support climate-affected communities.
