According to a report from Xinhua, the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) also confirmed 586 new infections in the 24 hours leading up to 8:00 a.m. on Thursday. This raises the total number of cases of the mosquito-borne disease to 36,682 so far this year. The country’s health authorities have stated they are strengthening measures, including anti-larval operations, to curb the further spread of the disease.
