The National Railways Authority reported that seven carriages of a train traveling from Marsa Matrouh to Cairo came off the tracks around 3:30 p.m. local time, with two carriages overturning. Rescue teams were deployed to clear the wreckage and restore service on the line.<\/p>\n
The Health Ministry confirmed that injuries ranged from fractures and lacerations to bruises, with 87 patients discharged after treatment. Hospitals across Matrouh and neighboring provinces were placed on high alert, with medical teams dispatched to support facilities handling casualties.<\/p>\n
The Transport Ministry launched an investigation into the cause of the derailment and promised \u201cmaximum penalties\u201d for those found responsible. Authorities said further updates would be provided as the investigation continues.<\/p>\n
