UN Spokesman St\u00e9phane Dujarric highlighted worsening conditions for Rohingya both inside and outside Myanmar amid ongoing violence between Myanmar\u2019s military and armed groups, the UN website reported. Forced recruitment, human rights abuses, and displacement continue to affect the community. The 2021 military coup in Myanmar intensified conflict and instability, leading to further refugee flows.<\/p>\n
Dujarric expressed concern over regional pushbacks and deportations, which threaten asylum protections. Funding cuts are also limiting vital services like education, healthcare, and food assistance for refugees.<\/p>\n
UN Secretary-General Ant\u00f3nio Guterres urged protection of civilians and called for increased international support alongside political efforts for a durable solution.
