3,500 Red Crescent Volunteers Offer Service to Pilgrims in Mashhad

\nMore than 3,500 volunteers and aid workers from the Iranian Red Crescent Society (IRCS) have been deployed to assist pilgrims visiting the holy shrine of Imam Reza (peace be upon him) in Mashhad, IQNA reported.<\/p>\n
IRCS spokesman Mojtaba Khaledi explained that these volunteers are stationed at fixed and mobile relief centers, cultural and health posts, as well as logistics bases to support the pilgrims. <\/p>\n
Given the high volume of pilgrims in Mashhad and along routes leading to the city, the IRCS utilized all its resources to implement these efforts, similar to previous years. Khaledi highlighted that this year saw a 20 percent increase in services, facilities, and personnel involved compared to last year.<\/p>\n
The \u201cStep by Step on the Path to Heaven\u201d project focused on assisting elderly, disabled, and mobility-impaired pilgrims, ensuring their journey was easier and more comfortable.<\/p>\n
In addition to Mashhad, Red Crescent volunteers were also active at other significant holy sites across the country, including the Shah Cheragh mausoleum in Shiraz and the shrine of Sayyida Masoumeh (peace be upon her) in Qom.<\/p>\n
