According to the Shia Waves Agency, citing Al Jazeera, the attacks took place between August 9 and 16 in North Kivu province, with the number of victims potentially rising. The UN peacekeeping mission (MONUSCO) has condemned these attacks “in the strongest possible terms.” The violence, which included abductions, looting, and the burning of homes and property, has worsened an already critical humanitarian situation in the region.
