A US-led coalition operation in the town of Atmeh, northern Idlib, Syria, resulted in the death of a senior ISIS operative, Iraqi authorities confirmed Wednesday. The raid targeted Salah Nouman, an Iraqi national and key ISIS leader responsible for coordinating cells in Syria.<\/p>\n
According to security sources, the operation was based on intelligence provided by Iraq\u2019s Counter-Terrorism Service. Coalition forces carried out an air assault on the residence where Nouman was hiding with his family. When he attempted to flee to the backyard, he was shot and killed on the spot.
