The United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) has warned that nearly half a million Palestinians in Gaza are on the brink of famine, stressing the urgent need for a ceasefire to expand humanitarian aid in the besieged territory.<\/p>\n
According to the agency, current assistance reaching Gaza covers only 47 percent of its daily target. It said food distribution, hot meal services, and bakery operations cannot resume without a significant increase in supplies. The WFP emphasized that only a cessation of hostilities would allow aid to reach those most in need.<\/p>\n
