The municipality of Holy Karbala has launched a large-scale campaign to clean and restore the city following the Arbaeen pilgrimage, as part of the \u201cCleanliness Week\u201d initiative introduced by Governor Nassif Jassim al-Khattabi.<\/p>\n
Municipal director Hassan al-Sharifi said the campaign began in the city\u2019s fifth sector, covering Sayyid Jawda Street and Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis Street, and will extend to the Najaf, Baghdad, and Babylon roads leading into Karbala, as well as the crowded old city center.<\/p>\n
The plan includes washing main and side streets, replanting medians, and rehabilitating public green spaces. Local authorities have fully mobilized municipal resources to complete the effort.
