The Iraqi consulate in Kabul has announced that the visa issuance process will begin on Sunday, August 10. However, with approximately 150,000 applicants and limited time, it is unlikely that all of them will receive their visas in time.<\/p>\n
The overland journey from Kabul to Karbala takes more than three days, meaning that even if visas are issued, many pilgrims will arrive after the day of Arbaeen.
