In preparation for the upcoming Arbaeen pilgrimage, authorities in the holy city of Karbala have begun intensive maintenance and rehabilitation works along the \u201cYa Hussein\u201d route, a key corridor connecting Holy Najaf to Holy Karbala that sees millions of pilgrims during the annual religious event.<\/p>\n
The ongoing work is part of a comprehensive preemptive plan and includes repairing damaged sections of the road, expanding critical segments, and upgrading lighting and essential public services to ensure safe and smooth passage for pilgrims.<\/p>\n
One of the most notable developments is the launch of a large-scale roofing project covering a 40-kilometer stretch starting from the Haydariyah area (Khan al-Nus), aimed at shielding pilgrims from the intense summer heat. The initiative is also accompanied by environmental enhancements, including planting vegetation along the route to improve air quality and comfort.<\/p>\n
Local government officials emphasized that these efforts are part of a broader infrastructure strategy being implemented ahead of the peak of the pilgrimage season.<\/p>\n
