Hospitals in Syria\u2019s Sweida Overwhelmed Following Sectarian Clashes, WHO Reports

\nThe main hospital in the southern Syrian city of Sweida is struggling to cope with a surge of trauma patients and is operating without sufficient electricity or water after violent clashes erupted nearly two weeks ago between the local Druze minority, Bedouin tribes, and government forces, Reuters reported.<\/p>\n
The hospital faces critical shortages as electricity and water supplies have been cut off, and essential medicines are running low. Many healthcare workers are unable to safely reach their workplaces. At one point this week, the hospital\u2019s morgue was overwhelmed due to the influx of trauma cases.<\/p>\n
Despite these challenges, the WHO has managed to deliver two aid convoys in the past week. However, access remains difficult due to ongoing tensions among the groups controlling different areas of Sweida governorate.<\/p>\n
