One in five children in Gaza City is now malnourished, according to the UN Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA), as the humanitarian crisis in the region continues to deteriorate. UNRWA Commissioner-General Philippe Lazzarini described the situation as catastrophic, quoting a colleague who said people in Gaza are “walking corpses.”<\/p>\n
More than 100 international aid and human rights organizations have issued urgent warnings of mass starvation and are calling for immediate action. The World Health Organization (WHO) echoed those concerns, describing the scale of hunger as “man-made” and unprecedented.<\/p>\n
