Maulana Kaab Rashidi, the Jamiat\u2019s legal advisor, said the ruling provides relief to many Islamic institutions targeted under \u201cunconstitutional pressure.\u201d He noted that many madrasas were closed without formal notices, often based on verbal orders.<\/p>\n
The High Court rejected the government\u2019s claim that lack of recognition alone justifies madrasa closures. Rashidi highlighted that the Supreme Court, led by then Chief Justice D.Y. Chandrachud, had already stayed similar notices issued by the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights in October 2024. The Uttar Pradesh government acknowledged this and advised no further action while the case is pending.<\/p>\n
