Concurrently, a separate blast in Maarat Misrin, also in Idlib province, resulted in a preliminary death toll of four, with 116 wounded, according to the Syrian Ministry of Health.<\/p>\n
The incident in Kafriya involved approximately 15 explosions at an arms depot, the cause of which remains unknown. Health officials confirmed that the injured were transported to nearby hospitals, and the blasts caused significant damage to surrounding structures.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, the explosion in Maarat Misrin led to conflicting casualty figures, with the Syria Civil Defence, known as the White Helmets, reporting at least six fatalities and ongoing search operations for more individuals trapped under rubble. Raed Al-Saleh, Syria’s minister of emergency and disaster management, noted that Civil Defence teams were working in hazardous conditions amidst ongoing secondary blasts and urged residents to avoid the site.<\/p>\n
