Saudi authorities executed two Saudi nationals on Tuesday, in a case that has drawn renewed scrutiny over the kingdom’s judicial practices and use of anti-terrorism laws. The Ministry of Interior announced the execution of brothers Mu\u2019jil bin Ibrahim Al-Fawzan and Suleiman bin Ibrahim Al-Fawzan, stating they were convicted of committing what it described as \u201cterrorist crimes.\u201d The execution was carried out in the central province of Al-Qassim.<\/p>\n
According to the ministry\u2019s statement, the two men were allegedly involved in a “terrorist cell” that had plotted to attack personnel at a military base by monitoring vehicle movements and preparing for suicide bombings.
