India: Al Ameen Mission Empowers 472 Students for Free Medical Seats in West Bengal

\nWest Bengal\u2019s Al Ameen Mission has achieved a remarkable milestone, with 472 students qualifying for free medical seats in government colleges through NEET (UG) 2025, Muslim Mirror reported. Among them, 154 students are from Murshidabad and 77 from Malda, districts with significant Muslim populations facing socio-economic challenges.<\/p>\n
Of the successful candidates, 59% come from modest backgrounds, including 27% from Below Poverty Line families, highlighting the Mission\u2019s role in uplifting underprivileged communities through education.<\/p>\n
Founded in 1987 by M. Nurul Islam, often called the Sir Syed of West Bengal, Al Ameen Mission began as a small hostel and now operates 77 branches across 23 districts, serving nearly 23,000 residential students. Over 49,000 students have graduated from the Mission, following state and national curricula.<\/p>\n
Nurul Islam\u2019s leadership has earned him the Banga Bhushan Award (2015) and recognition as one of the 100 most influential Indian Muslims.
