The group, reportedly en route to a wedding, lost their way and stopped to ask for directions when they were accosted by a mob. Survivors said they were assaulted with sticks, machetes, and stones, and the bus was later set on fire. Authorities initially reported eight deaths, with four missing.<\/p>\n
President Bola Tinubu condemned the attack as \u201cunacceptable and barbaric,\u201d urging state authorities to take decisive action to break the cycle of violence. He also called for the arrest and prosecution of those responsible.<\/p>\n
