Yellow heat-health alerts have been issued for most of England, excluding the North East and North West, lasting until Sunday evening. The alerts warn of increased risks to vulnerable groups and potential pressure on health and social services.<\/p>\n
Temperatures are forecast to reach 30\u00b0C in parts of southern and central England on Thursday, with even warmer nights to follow. Friday and Saturday will likely be the hottest days, especially in south-east England and East Anglia, where 33\u00b0C is possible. A “tropical night,” where temperatures stay above 20\u00b0C, is also likely on Saturday.<\/p>\n
The rising heat is due to high pressure drawing warm air from southern Europe, where parts of France and Spain may approach 40\u00b0C.
