The Pahalgam attack on April 22, allegedly carried out by Pakistan-backed Lashkar-e-Kashmir terrorists, resulted in the deaths of 26 civilians, including 25 tourists and a local pony owner who died protecting them. The incident triggered nationwide outrage and led to Indian military strikes on terror infrastructure in Pakistan, followed by retaliatory shelling that killed 18 civilians and damaged numerous civilian properties.<\/p>\n
