On the fourth anniversary of the London, Ontario truck attack that killed four members of the Afzaal family, Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney condemned the incident as a \u201chorrific act of terrorism.\u201d Speaking at Eid al-Adha celebrations organized by the Islamic Society of Canada, Carney reaffirmed his government\u2019s commitment to fighting religious hatred and Islamophobia.<\/p>\n
He stressed that targeting innocent people because of their faith is indefensible and must be clearly recognized as terrorism. The president of the Islamic Society of Canada echoed these sentiments, stating the attack exposed the real and persistent threat of Islamophobia in the country.
