Iraq: Suspected mass graves discovered in Kirkuk and Salahuddin<\/p>\n
Under the supervision of Iraq\u2019s Martyrs Foundation, technical teams have conducted initial inspections at six suspected mass grave sites in the provinces of Salahuddin and Kirkuk. The inspections are part of efforts to identify victims and include the sites in future excavation plans.<\/p>\n
According to a source, the Directorate of Mass Graves and the Missing, operating under Law No. 13 of 2015 for the Protection of Mass Graves, carried out assessments in Al-Siniya in Salahuddin and five locations in Kirkuk, including the village of Al-Dagmat in Al-Rashad sub-district, Toub Zawa Camp in Yaychi, Al-Khadraa district, and the Industrial Zone Cemetery.<\/p>\n
The operations were coordinated with security forces to ensure the safety of the specialized teams. The findings will be added to the foundation\u2019s database in preparation for excavation and identification of victims believed to have been killed during the ISIS era.
