A recent UNOCHA report highlights alarming incidents, including at least 32 cases of rape in Vuhato village and renewed violence in Kanune, Luhanga, and Mbwavinywa on April 9\u201310, which led to two civilian deaths and the displacement of over 4,000 people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Since December 2024, more than 16,000 individuals have been newly displaced in Musienene\u2019s Vuyinga health zone, many of whom now rely on vulnerable host families for shelter and basic needs. The presence of unexploded ordnance remains a severe risk, with four deadly incidents reported this year in farming areas like Kayna and Lubero, causing ten civilian deaths and deterring agricultural activity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
While joint military operations by the DRC and Uganda continue against the Allied Democratic Forces (ADF), insecurity persists, notably in Oicha and Beni territory. UNOCHA also warns of rising tensions in Kitsombiro and Kamandi, where clashes have triggered further displacements.
