In a statement, he said: \u201cWhat we witness today in some Islamic countries\u2014unfortunately\u2014of prisons, torture, and abuse, is not from Islam, not from the Qur\u2019an, and not from the Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him and his family).\u201d His Eminence emphasized that the nature of current prison systems and their practices reflect unjust regimes that distorted Islam by committing atrocities in its name.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
