The Philippine Islamic Burial Act allows the immediate burial of deceased Muslims without requiring a death certificate beforehand. However, the person conducting the burial or the deceased\u2019s next of kin must report the death to local health authorities within 14 days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Hospitals are also required to release remains within 24 hours, regardless of unsettled bills, to ensure adherence to Islamic burial traditions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Additionally, the Senate has approved the Equal Access to Public Cemeteries Act, which mandates burial spaces for Muslims, indigenous peoples, and other religious groups in public cemeteries. If space is unavailable, local governments must acquire land to establish designated burial grounds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
