On the fourth anniversary of Myanmar\u2019s military coup, the European Union (EU) has called for an end to violence and accountability for the atrocities committed since February 1, 2021, Anadolu Agency reported. The bloc condemned the actions of the Myanmar military, which have led to a severe political, economic, and humanitarian crisis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The EU demanded the immediate release of all arbitrarily detained prisoners, including President U Win Myint and State Counsellor Daw Aung San Suu Kyi. It emphasized the importance of accountability through the Independent Investigative Mechanism for Myanmar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Additionally, the EU expressed concern over the forced conscription of civilians, particularly among the Rohingya and other minorities. It urged armed groups to allow humanitarian organizations full access to those in need.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
