Turkish authorities have arrested 100 individuals suspected of being members of the ISIS group over the past week, Xinhua reported citing a Tuesday statement by the Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The operations, named “Gurz-41” and “Gurz-42,” were conducted across 24 provinces, including Ankara, the capital, and Istanbul, the most populous city in Turkey, as reported by the minister on the social media platform X.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Authorities discovered that the suspects were engaged in activities for the organization, providing financial support, and disseminating propaganda for the terrorist group on social media. Yerlikaya noted that police seized organizational documents and digital materials during the raids. “With our strategy of eliminating terrorism at its source, we continue our fight resolutely, alongside our police, gendarmerie, and intelligence units,” he stated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Turkey has classified ISIS as a terrorist organization since 2013, attributing a series of deadly attacks in the country to the group.
