Over one million people have fled the ongoing conflict in Sudan, entering South Sudan, Anadolu Agency reported citing the UN agencies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This significant displacement, driven by nearly two years of violence, includes many South Sudanese who had previously sought refuge in Sudan, alongside thousands of Sudanese nationals and other foreign residents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Since April 2023, more than 770,200 individuals have crossed into South Sudan via the Wunthou border point, with additional arrivals through transit hubs like Majokyinthiou and Panakuach. The International Organization for Migration (IOM) and UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR) are providing essential services, including transport, shelter, and health care.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
UNHCR’s deputy representative, Sanaa Abdalla Omer, emphasized the need for international support, stating that local communities cannot manage the crisis alone.
