Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) organized an exhibition of rare books and ancient manuscripts to commemorate the birth of Amirul Momineen Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib (peace be upon him), under the auspices of Maulana Azad Library and Ali Society, Hawzah News in Urdu reported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The exhibition was inaugurated by Vice Chancellor Professor Naima Khatoon, who also inspected the displayed rare items.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The exhibition featured several historically significant artifacts, including six handwritten manuscripts, books in various languages, rare copies of the Holy Quran, and a 900-year-old version of Nahj al-Balagha.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Professor Nasht Fatima, the librarian of Maulana Azad Library, briefed the Vice Chancellor on the historical significance of the important manuscripts on display. Professor Naima Khatoon also launched a catalog of the exhibited items, which was prepared by Professor Nasht Fatima.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A particular highlight of the exhibition was a hand-written copy of the Holy Quran in Kufic script on leather, believed to be written by Imam Ali (peace be upon him). Other notable items included a Quran written by Jahanara, the daughter of Shah Jahan, a poem in praise of Imam Ali (peace be upon him) inscribed in nail script, and a poem written by Asif Khan, the father of Mumtaz Mahal, Shah Jahan’s wife.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The event was attended by several prominent figures, including university faculty and officials, such as Registrar Mohammad Imran, Dean of Students Welfare Professor Rafiuddin, Proctor Professor M.
