The American Islamic Association in Staten Island has announced the start of phase two of its mosque expansion project, aimed at serving the growing Muslim community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The new phase will significantly increase the mosque’s capacity, adding classrooms for Quranic studies, a hall for events, and facilities for youth activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The expansion will also include a kitchen and food bank to support low-income families, especially during the winter, as well as an Islamic library and childcare facilities, with mental health support services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Abdullah Aqel, a member of the association, emphasized that the center will be open to all and is essential for the increasing Muslim population in Staten Island.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
