The report reveals that only 116,600 of the returnees have received essential aid, with nearly half of those assisted being women. Additionally, 2.5% of returnees are individuals with disabilities, further emphasizing the urgent need for targeted support.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A delegation from the European Union, Norway, and Sweden visited Kabul in late November to assess the conditions of returnees and inspect UNHCR-supported facilities. They reaffirmed their commitment to empowering women and girls while supporting UNHCR\u2019s initiatives in Afghanistan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
However, the forced return of Afghan migrants has drawn widespread criticism, as many believe it exacerbates the already dire humanitarian crisis. Reports indicate that the UNHCR office in Nangarhar has ceased operations due to funding shortages, leaving many vulnerable populations without critical assistance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The closure of the office underscores the increasing challenges faced by international aid organizations in Afghanistan, particularly amid political restrictions and accusations of espionage against aid agencies.
