Save the Children has reported that the ongoing economic crisis, along with droughts and recurring floods, has severely impacted the lives of children in Afghanistan, Afghanistan International reported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The organization described 2024 as a “brutal” year for these children and shared a video on the X social media platform urging support for their plight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The organization stated, “The economic crisis, repeated droughts, and floods have left children in a dire nutritional situation. Help us give hope to Afghan children.” Earlier this year, Save the Children warned of a humanitarian crisis driven by climate change, noting that 38,000 people, including many children, were displaced due to adverse weather conditions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Children in Afghanistan face numerous challenges, with the country ranked among the three worst places for children in 2023. Save the Children also highlighted that Afghan babies are five times more likely to experience the effects of drought throughout their lives compared to individuals who are 60 years old today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
