The organizations expressed deep concern over the growing threats journalists face, stating that the current situation is unprecedented in terms of the risks to journalists\u2019 lives rather than their protection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The groups noted that journalists in Yemen are facing severe conditions marked by violence and intimidation, including killings, torture, and forced disappearances, amid a lack of accountability, which has fueled further violence against the press.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Reporters Without Borders highlighted that Yemen ranks 154th out of 180 countries in press freedom for 2024, describing the country as one of the most dangerous places to practice journalism.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
