IOM Director-General Amy Pope reported that approximately 11 million individuals are internally displaced, while around 3.1 million have fled to neighboring countries. Since last month alone, about 200,000 people have been forced to leave their homes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Pope emphasized that this figure also includes those displaced prior to the civil war that erupted in April 2023. The ongoing conflict has exacerbated the humanitarian crisis, leaving millions in urgent need of assistance.
