The United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) has provided life-saving protection and reproductive health services to nearly 20,000 women and girls in remote and displaced areas of Yemen since the start of 2024. This effort addresses the critical need for reproductive health and protection services in conflict zones, where women face heightened risks of violence and lack of healthcare.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In a recent statement on “X,” UNFPA reported that over 19,256 women and girls in hard-to-reach areas, including camps near conflict zones, have benefited from these services since January 2024. With 12 mobile teams, supported by the EU, the UN’s Central Emergency Response Fund, and USAID, UNFPA provides essential health services while raising awareness about women’s health rights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to UNFPA, about 11.86 million women and girls in Yemen will require reproductive health and protection services in 2024, with 6.36 million at risk of gender-based violence.
