The dengue fever death toll in Bangladesh has reached 95 this year, with the government confirming three additional fatalities on Saturday, Xinhua reported yesterday. The Ministry of Health reported that 12 deaths occurred in September alone, while 27 were recorded in August, 12 in July, and 8 in June.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
From September 1 to September 7, the country saw 2,366 new dengue cases, following a total of 6,521 infections reported in August. In the last 24 hours, 403 fresh cases were documented, bringing the total number of dengue cases since January to 15,207.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The monsoon season from June to September is known to exacerbate the spread of dengue, making Bangladesh a high-risk area for this mosquito-borne disease. Symptoms of dengue include high fever, severe headaches, vomiting, muscle and joint pain, and a characteristic skin rash.
