The law introduces three additional Shariah judicial districts and 12 new circuit courts, increasing the total from 51 to 63. Previously limited to the Muslim-majority regions of Mindanao, the new courts will extend Shariah law’s reach to Luzon, including Metro Manila, and other islands with smaller Muslim populations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
