A 3,500-year-old tablet was discovered during an excavation in Hatay, a coastal city in T\u00fcrkiye’s Mediterranean region, the Turkish Culture and Tourism said on Tuesday, Anadolu Agency reported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Mehmet Akif Ersoy announced that the tablet was unearthed at Accana Hoyuk, also known as Old Alalah, located in Hatay’s Reyhanli district.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Ersoy stated on “X” platform that preliminary readings of the Akkadian cuneiform tablet, which dates back to the 15th century BC, indicate it contains records of a significant amount of furniture transactions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He mentioned that the 28-gram tablet will offer new insights into the economic structure and governmental system of the Late Bronze Age.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
