Maulana Waliullah Sayeedi Falahi, the national vice president of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind, has strongly criticized the Uttar Pradesh government’s recent initiatives targeting the education sector, particularly religious madrassas, Muslim Mirror reported yesterday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In a press release, he condemned measures that force madrassa students to transfer to other schools, arguing that these actions violate the constitutional rights of minorities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He referenced Article 30(1) of the Indian Constitution, which protects the rights of minorities to manage their own educational institutions. Falahi also opposed the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights’ involvement with madrassas, deeming it unconstitutional.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He urged the state to withdraw its directive to close non-approved madrassas and relocate their students, highlighting that over 8,000 madrassas exist in Uttar Pradesh.
