The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) handed over 12,400 cartons of Ready-to-Use Therapeutic Foods (RUTF) to the Jigawa State Government on Tuesday to support malnourished children.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to a statement from UNICEF\u2019s head of Advocacy and Media Relations, the RUTF is intended to treat 14,000 children suffering from wasting, a condition where a child is significantly underweight for their height.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Malnutrition is increasing in Nigeria, fueled by conflict, forced displacement, and growing food insecurity due to limited access and high costs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
